About the Job:

The practice of sonography is performed by a segment of health care professionals responsible for the administration of high frequency sound waves and other diagnostic techniques for medical purposes. Sonography integrates scientific knowledge, technical skills, patient interaction, and care resulting in diagnostic information. A sonographer performs the ultrasound examination that creates the images needed for diagnosis. A sonographer recognizes conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure and exercises independent professional and ethical judgment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Performs ultrasound procedures based on the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission standards (IAC) and the adheres to the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) “Code of Ethics”
  • Serves as the primary liaison between patients, licensed practitioners, and other members of the support team.
  • Understands and adheres to departmental exam protocols
  • Use independent, professional, ethical judgment and critical thinking.
  • Serves as Team Leader in the absence of Lead
  • Maintains and orders biopsy supplies in the absence of the Ultrasound Supervisor

Who You Are:

  • Successful completion of accredited (CAAHEP) educational Sonography program recognized by the ARDMS.
  • Individual must have a minimum of 3 years' experience in abdominal, obstetrical, and gynecological scanning, Required.
  • Compliant with Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (MIRT) prior to hire, Required
  • ARMDS Registered, Required
    • Vascular registered must be attained within 6 months of hire.
    • Must also have two other ARDMS, Required
  • Ability to obtain BLS during employment, Required
