The inpatient pharmacy department is comprised of pharmacists and technicians working collaboratively to provide safe, timely and effective medication therapy to our patients. We operate a decentralized model for both medication distribution utilizing Omnicell automation, as well as clinically with pharmacists dedicated to the teams on our nursing units. About The Job

The Pharmacy Diversion & Compliance Specialist is responsible for assisting the pharmacy departments with implementation and maintenance of regulatory, automation and technological needs/requirements.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain knowledge of health system pharmacy practice and technician roles.
  • Review medical record and prescription data files in accordance with standards. Maintain supportive evidence of compliance relative to laws, rules and standards for the following accrediting/licensing bodies which may include but are not limited to: DEA, Board of Pharmacy, USP, FDA, DNV.
  • Proficient with Electronic Medical Record, Microsoft Office and Adobe products to produce forms, reports, data collection and maintenance tools. Supports electronic data and forms whenever feasible.
  • Perform routine medication diversion surveillance by using automation reports and integrated software. Identify and trend policy deviations or anomalies, escalating through appropriate pathways.
  • Collaborate with Medication Safety Officer, Pharmacy Manager Acute Care, Director of Pharmacy, various work groups and teams.
  • Communicate with and lead teams through surveys and audits with close attention to detail.
  • Prepare and maintain documents for accrediting/licensing bodies.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by engaging as role model to lead team members forward together.
  • Participate in policy and procedure reviews related to pharmacy and organizational operations. Coordinate and conduct audits to measure adherence and compliance to standards.
  • Educate pharmacy learners including pharmacists, technicians, students, and residents.
  • Attend and lead meetings in support of pharmacy and organizational leaders.

What You’ll Need

High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree preferred.

Current Nh Pharmacy Technician and National Pharm Tech Certification required.

3 years of related pharmacy experience required. Omnicell automation products and EPIC experience preferred.
