The Cardiovascular Testing department at Elliot Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility offering advanced cardiovascular care and treatments. Our highly trained staff of doctors, nurses, technicians, and therapists provides the highest quality care for our patients. The lab offers comprehensive diagnostic services using the latest technology including cardiac catheterization, echocardiography, CT scans, MRI scans, and nuclear imaging. We also specialize in interventional procedures such as angioplasty, stenting, arrhythmia treatment, ventricular assist devices, and valve repair or replacement.
About the Job:
The Supv Non-Invasive Cardiac Testing provides oversight of the non-invasive Echocardiology lab and Cardiac Testing Department. The incumbent will facilitate within this modality the maintenance and development of non-invasive cardiac testing procedures and evaluation systems; and will support and assist with marketing services, planning and development. The Supv Non-Invasive Cardiac Testing Supervisor will exercise independent professional and ethical judgment; and will perform all duties in a manner that promotes teamwork and reflects the mission, philosophy, and Code of Conduct of Elliot Health System.
What You’ll Do:
- Duties may be performed off site as determined and pre-approved by manager/supervisor.
- Ensure that the department is functioning in accordance with regulatory agencies, state statutes, and practice standards, i.e., IAC, ASE, ACC, TJC, OSHA, CMS, HIPPA.
- Promote use of evidence-based practice in planning, implementing, and evaluating clinical practice. Champion the values of the EHS Mission Statement.
- Support the Elliot Health System policies and procedures for the delivery of safe patient care and collaborate in the review and revision of departmental policies, procedures, and protocols, guidelines, and standards of care.
- Collaborate with Clinical Nurse Manager, cardiologists, and staff to develop, implement, and monitor departmental educational programs.
- Foster participation in the development and implementation of annual departmental goals and objectives, which are consistent with those of Elliot Health System and in collaboration with the Medical Director and other members of the health care team.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate quality management activities consistent with national benchmarking and public reporting.
- Foster positive interdisciplinary communication and teamwork aligned with the principles of TeamSTEPPS.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Nurse Manager to establish and communicate performance expectations and assist with development of professional goals of each staff member.
- Monitor and evaluate staff performance. Conduct timely in-the moment coaching and annual performance reviews.
- Maintain and update knowledge and skill in leadership, management, and clinical specialty.
Who You Are:
- Associate degree in Radiology, Allied Health Technology or a related degree required. Bachelor’s degree in science preferred.
- BLS at time of hire preferred. Or the Ability to obtain BLS within 60 days of hire required.
- Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Certification required.
- An appropriate credential in echocardiography from the ARDMS, CCI or CARDUP:
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within 1 year of eligibility.
- Ability to remain up to date on required CME credit required. Ability to obtain BLS within 60 days of hire required.
