**This is a Monday-Friday Commitment**
Licensed nursing assistants help patients with daily activities, improve their hospital
experience, help patients and visitors to feel more comfortable, monitor vital signs,
among other responsibilities. They are an important part of our team.
What is the licensed nursing assistant apprentice program?
This “learn as you earn” program and is the best of both worlds – paid career training and a
guaranteed job at successful completion of the program.
In the first two years, you’ll:
• Complete a 6-week course that includes classroom instruction and some practicum hours
• Test for a statewide certification
• Start a full-time Licensed Nursing Assistant position with one of our inpatient units
• Complete 3,600 on-the-job training hours
This program is made available through a partnership between Elliot Health System,
ApprenticeshipNH and Manchester Community College.
Course Schedule is Monday – Friday
Hybrid learning model – courses will include both online and in-person sessions
*Syllabus will be provided as we get closer to the program start date
About the Job:
The Nursing Assistant Student, under general direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager and direct supervision of the RN is an integral member of the care delivery team by performing direct and indirect patient care through clinical tasks within the scope of student LNA practice and by providing personal care and emotional support.
What You’ll Do:
Activities of daily living
Report all observations, symptoms, deviations from normal, and changes in patient’s condition to RN
Provide basic support to patients and families
Documents in selected areas of the medical record as appropriate
Who You Are:
LNA license is required to be obtained within 60 days of completion of course. If it is not obtained, the employee will no longer be eligible to remain in the LNA position.
Successful completion of BLS training. (Provided through program)
Intent to work with Elliot Health System Full-Time
2 Year Commitment to the Program and LNA Position
