Position Summary - Monday-Friday, 8am-5:00pm, 40 hours weekly
Plastic Surgery nurses participate as full members of our care team. A plastics nurse is hands-on; numbing patients with local prior to procedures, removing sutures at follow-up visits, dressing burns and wounds, and triaging which patients need in-person visits vs. management over the phone. Nurses in our practice cooperate with a scheduler to coordinate pre-surgery planning, so patients are fully prepped for surgery. Our nurses educate patients, so their recovery is smooth and comfortable. A nurse in plastic surgery is also expected to lead our team of medical assistants and educated in Lean principles to ensure our entire practice runs safely and efficiently with the highest quality experience for patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Embraces and promotes change to support optimal patient outcomes and an effective professional practice environment.
- Involves patient/family in goal setting and planning, and communicates that plan of care to patient and family for input; and to colleagues to ensure seamless care across shifts and settings.
- Utilizes current evidence and relevant national/specialty standards to guide practice and/or performance and identifies areas for improvement.
- Demonstrates competent clinical practice utilizing clinical decision making and critical thinking skills.
Education/Experience/Licensure
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Licensure: New Hampshire Registered Nurse or Compact State Registered Nurse License.
- Technical Certification: Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period and maintain during employment. ACLS preferred.
