About The Job:

The Digital and Social Media Manager, under direction of the Vice President of Marketing and Communications, oversees Elliot Health System’s social media strategies across online platforms, as well as manages, creates, and reviews social media content. This individual is responsible for cultivating engagement with target audiences across clinical and consumer platforms and supporting a positive image and reputation for Elliot Health System. This individual oversees the definition, development, and execution of social media strategies to foster increased engagement and interest in key clinical programs and services for The Elliot as aligned with the overall strategic objectives of the organization. The Digital and Social Media Manager will actively monitor engagement and interactions with social media audiences and review sites, while also measuring the effectiveness of the system’s social media efforts. This individual must possess excellent written skills, with knowledge of social media tone and positioning for health care, along with previous experience with social media strategy, development, and execution and measurement. This individual will effectively foster and maintain valued relationships and expectations of system leaders (“clients”), proactively provide subject matter expertise to properly manage client expectations and direct the day-to-day priorities to support digital and social media strategy and content needs. The Digital and Social Media Manager must possess a passion for storytelling through online channels and a commitment to producing exceptional content, with the flexibility to perform a variety of duties as needed to support both system and department goals.

What You’ll Do

  • Under the direction of the Vice President of Marketing and Communications, develops social media strategy across Elliot Health System’s key social media platforms, to include developing and overseeing a regular social media content and story roadmap. Regularly reviews monthly content plan and optimizes engagement with target audiences.
  • Monitors engagement and interactions with social media followers and assists with triaging questions and/or complaints as needed. Monitors channels for proactive/social-influencer opportunities to establish and build The Elliot online brand.
  • Works closely with members of the Marketing and Communications team to develop and execute innovative digital and social media strategies as aligned with Elliot Health System strategic objectives and brand standards.
  • Participates in the creative development process, offering fresh ideas, perspectives, and storyboarding.
  • Serves as the department’s primary point of contact for creating, curating, and copyediting visual assets and copy for the system’s main social media channels across all platforms – which may include photos of team members and patients/patient families, photos/videos of Elliot Health System events, and curating content in collaboration with team members and patients/patient families.
  • Understands and upholds the Elliot Health System brand, including tone and voice, photography style and color palette for social media content.
  • Uses department guidelines to ensure proper organization and archiving of digital assets.
  • Identifies opportunities to contribute to or adapt communication strategies to repackage and share complementary content to advance department and system goals.
  • Stays knowledgeable of emerging social media best practices and industry trends related to healthcare social media strategy and content strategy.

What You’ll Need

Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Communications, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Media Arts or related field required.

A minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience managing, planning, executing, and analyzing compelling content for social media campaigns for multiple platforms. Experience fostering a brand community, engaging with an online audience, and responding to comments.

Social media campaign planning and development for healthcare strongly preferred. Previous experience in healthcare preferred.
