The Ambulatory Clinical Nurse Manager of Manchester Urology is responsible for overseeing clinical operations across multiple practice locations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care. This role provides leadership and clinical operational oversight for urology services across Manchester, Nashua, Dover, Portsmouth, and Derry, driving consistency, efficiency, and excellence in clinical practice throughout the region.
Clinical Services Overview
Manchester Urology provides care for a broad range of urologic conditions affecting the urinary and reproductive systems, including cancers (prostate, kidney, bladder, testicular, adrenal), BPH, kidney stones, UTIs, hematuria, incontinence, and bladder disorders. The practice also specializes in men’s sexual health, infertility, and pelvic prolapse.
Services include medical and surgical management, with procedures such as vasectomy and vasectomy reversal, cystoscopy, and biopsies.
Position Summary: M - F Days
As a member of the clinical nursing leadership team and in collaboration with Practice Managers, the RN Mgr, Clinical Nurse Manager Ambulatory will demonstrate 24-hour accountability for clinical, operational, human resources, and financial management of the Elliot Clinical Services (ECS) practice(s). The incumbent is responsible for the management of the nursing and clinical support staff in the Practice(s) and is accountable for the delivery of high-quality patient care in a work environment conducive to learning, professional growth, accountability and autonomy.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure department functioning in accordance with regulatory agencies, state statutes, and practice standards, i.e., DNV, TJC, SHA, CMS, HIPAA.
- Support the Elliot Health System policies and procedures for the delivery of safe patient care and collaborate in the review and revision of nursing departmental policies, procedures, and protocols, guidelines, and standards of care.
- Foster participation in the development and implementation of annual departmental goals and objectives, which are consistent with those of Elliot Health System and in collaboration with the Ambulatory Nursing Director, Practice Manager, and other members of the health care team.
- Participate and/or support in the development of business and marketing plans.
- Ensure that appropriate experience mix, and number of staff are available to meet the needs of the patient population.
- In conjunction with Human Resources Department, interviews and selects candidates for employment. Initiates and approves personnel activities including, but not limited to hiring, transferring, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and terminating, with the support of the Director as needed.
- Consistent with the principles of TeamSTEPPS, fosters positive interdisciplinary communications and teamwork.
- In collaboration with the Ambulatory Nursing Director, Quality and Safety Nurse, Clinical Nurse Educator, Practice Managers, establishes and communicates performance expectations and assist with development of professional goals of each staff member. Monitors and evaluates staff performance. Conducts timely in-the-moment coaching and annual performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with the Practice Manger to prepare annual departmental budget including projected office visits, revenues, staffing plans, operating expenses, and capital related requests. Involves staff and medical staff when possible.
- Manage FTE levels to meet staffing standards.
- Monitor and report monthly financial performance, identify variances, and recommend improvements to the Practice Managers.
- Monitor, approve, and submit complete and accurate payroll for the clinical staff.
Education/Experience/Licensure
- Education: Graduate of an accredited or NLN approved RN program required. BSN or higher degree in Nursing required. Master’s degree in nursing or other healthcare related field preferred.
- Licensure: Current registration in the State of New Hampshire as a Registered Nurse required. Professional specialty certification required or obtained within six (6) months of hire during employment.
- Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of recent ambulatory clinical experience preferred. Previous management or leadership experience preferred.
