Elliot Hospital is seeking a full-time Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join our dedicated pediatric specialty team in Manchester, New Hampshire. This position offers a balanced combination of outpatient care, inpatient consultation, and procedural practice within a collaborative community hospital environment.
The Pediatric Gastroenterologist will provide comprehensive care for infants, children, and adolescents with a broad range of gastrointestinal, hepatic, pancreatic, and nutritional conditions. Clinical responsibilities include outpatient evaluation and management, inpatient consultation, scheduled procedures, and urgent procedures such as foreign-body removal.
Our Pediatric Gastroenterology department is a member of the ImproveCareNow Network, an international learning health network focused on improving outcomes for children and adolescents with inflammatory bowel disease.
Position Highlights
- Full-time pediatric gastroenterology position
- Balanced outpatient, inpatient, and procedural responsibilities
- Protected blocks for outpatient clinic and procedures
- One dedicated administrative day each week
- Dedicated Pediatric Gastroenterology Registered Nurse and Medical Assistant
- Participation in the ImproveCareNow Network
- Collaborative relationships with pediatric hospitalists, emergency medicine, anesthesia, surgery, radiology, nutrition, and other pediatric specialists
- Opportunity to help shape and grow pediatric gastroenterology services within a community hospital setting
- Broad clinical scope with the ability to develop areas of special interest
Clinical Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage pediatric patients with acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions
- Provide outpatient consultation and longitudinal specialty care
- Provide inpatient pediatric gastroenterology consultations
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic pediatric endoscopic procedures
- Provide urgent procedural care, including foreign-body removal
- Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams
- Coordinate care with primary care clinicians and pediatric subspecialists
- Participate in ImproveCareNow initiatives, quality improvement, clinical education, and program development
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
- Share call responsibilities as established by the department
